    Half-Load Restrictions - lifted

Half-load restrictions have been lifted as of Monday April 27, 2026 within the Township of Stirling-Rawdon.

Every year, the Township of Stirling-Rawdon puts half-load restrictions on select roadways beginning late winter until spring to help protect infrastructure.

Roads become softer and weaker as they thaw following winter weather. Heavy vehicle traffic on these roadways can cause permanent damage. Half-load restrictions help reduce unnecessary road repairs or reconstruction.

When half-load restrictions are in effect, temporary signs are installed to indicate when a road is off limits to vehicles exceeding 5,000 kg (5 tonnes per axle). Exact dates are decided annually, depending on road conditions and temperatures.

All roads within the Township of Stirling-Rawdon are load-restricted unless stated otherwise.

The following roads within the Township of Stirling-Rawdon are not subject to load restrictions:

    • Stirling-Marmora Road

    • Belleville Road

    • North Street

    • Front Street East & West

    • Frankford Road

Please feel free to refer to section 122, Reduced load periods of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, as amended (HTA).

  • Normal Water Conditions - Lower Trent

Lower Trent Conservation has lifted the Level I Low Water Advisory, which started in August of 2025 as
Level I Low Water Condition and peaked, at its most severe, as a Level III Low Water Condition in
September of 2025. Precipitation and stream flow conditions have improved greatly over the last 3
months of 2025. Overall, conditions have stabilized due to a return to seasonal precipitation amounts
experienced as both rain and snow throughout the watershed.
