Stirling
Skateboard Park
The
Stirling Sk8 Park Committee was formed by dedicated volunteers in July
2005, with our efforts coming to reality last fall! The skatepark was
built in November 2006, and is located along the railroad trail beside
the newly renocated Train Station/ Information Centre.
The Kids
of Stirling need more things to do that are fun & healthy. Not all
can afford to join local sports organizations, nor do all excel at team
sports. Comments from Police Forces in areas that have attained a Skate
Park are “that it was the best thing that ever happened”.
We are
continuing to raise money for the Sk8 Park until it is completely paid.
Advertising is one simple way that businesses and organizations can
help out. Metal signs are being placed on the perimeter of the fence
surrounding the Sk8 Park, for $150.00 (basic design). Annual
maintenance fees are also available for the following years, at a cost
of $25.00 annually.
Donations
are also eligible for a charitable tax receipt, through the Township of
Stirling-Rawdon (re: Skate Park).
