MINUTES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF STIRLING-RAWDON SPECIAL COUNCIL
MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 29, 2008

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:      Mayor Peter Kooistra, Deputy Mayor Michael Regan and Councillors Jeremy Solmes, Abby Wigger and Marian Bastedo

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. The special meeting was called to deal with an application for a grant.  The matter was considered to be of a time sensitive nature since the deadline for submitting such applications is February 15, 2008.  Notice of this special meeting was posted in the municipal office.

 

Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative Funding Application

 

The Clerk informed Council of a recent telephone conversation that he had with Leona Dombrowsky, MPP concerning the Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative.  He advised of some points that should be taken into consideration when making application.

 

The Clerk distributed copies of the Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative – Program Guidelines for Council information.

 

The Clerk, Treasurer, and Public Works Manager provided Council with a staff report for their consideration.

Moved by Councillor Wigger   

Seconded by Deputy Mayor Regan

“That application be made under the Municipal Infrastructure Investment Initiative for the reconstruction of Allan Street, St. James Street and Rosco Street to include water, sewer, sidewalks and road reconstruction in the amount of $1,000,000.00

 

and further that the Township partner in the amount of $500,000.00 for a total project cost of $1,500,000.00.”  Carried.

Seconded by Marian Bastedo

“That motion #22 of the Finance and Personnel Committee meeting held on January 22, 2008 concerning application for Hoards Road resconstruction be rescinded.”
