ABOUT STIRLING MANOR
Stirling Manor Nursing Home is an accredited facility (CCHSA)
Friendly and caring
staff;
Air-conditioning in
common areas;
Private, semi-private
and standard accommodations;
Residents are encouraged
to bring personal items, i.e. pictures, chair, mementoes items,
dressers, etc. into the Home;
Room rates are set
annually by the Minister of Health.
MEDICAL
& NURSING SERVICES:
An Advisory Physician is retained by the Home to oversee all matters
relating to medical care in the facility;
Medical care will,
when possible, be provided by the physician of your choice;
Qualified personnel
on duty 24 hours;
All Registered Staff
are certified in C.P.R.
PASTORIAL
CARE:
Residents are invited to attend weekly inter-denominational church
services, monthly communions & bible study.
MEAL
SERVICES:
Meals are provided on site;
Home style cooking;
Regular, therapeutic
diets and nourishments are provided under the direction of a qualified
Food Service Supervisor;
Consulting Dietitian.
OTHER
SERVICES
Full laundry service provided;
Full housekeeping
service provided;
Beauty/Barber salon.
ACTIVITES
/ RECREATION / RESTORATIVE CARE:
Recreational and social events are arranged by a full-time Activation
Supervisor;
Comprehensive program
calendar;
Independence is encouraged
through a restorative care philosophy.
VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteers greatly enhance our activation programs;
Volunteers are always
welcome.
COMMUNITY:
Maintaining Community involvement is essential; residents often
attend community functions; groups and individuals always welcome
to the Home.
PALLIATIVE
CARE:
A comprehensive Palliative Care Program is in place for residents
and families.
VISITING
HOURS:
Visiting hours are flexible.
TOURS:
Available any day; please call the Home to arrange.
FIRE
SAFETY:
Sprinkler system throughout entire facility;
Routine fire drills
are conducted: residents and families are encouraged to participate;
Residents smoking
lounge on floor three;
All exit doors are
alarmed.
RESIDENTS'
COUNCIL:
Resident's Council represents the entire resident population within
the Facility. Meetings are held monthly, family and friends are
encouraged to attend. Resident's Council meetings are chaired by
two volunteers.
SUGGESTIONS/CONCERNS:
Residents, families and visitors are encouraged to voice and discuss
any suggestion/concern(s) with the Home's Administration Staff or
the Nurse In Charge. Suggestions / Concerns Forms are located in
the lobby.
